Yosemite!

I think it's very telling that we spent only 1 night in Yosemite park and a whole week in San Francisco and at least a third of my photos are of Yosemite. It was absolutely beautiful there and even the drives in and out were breathtaking. As you can see from the pictures below, there was a great balance of water, rock, sky and green everywhere we went.

Misty Bay

I like this photo mostly because it makes me think of my Dad, who likes actual sail boats as well as pictures of sailboats and I think probably mysteriously misty sail boats too!

California Sunset

Sighhhhhh.....

Alcatraz Island

We took a night tour of Alcatraz which turned out to be so beautiful! We got to watch the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge and the view of the city was gorgeous. Alcatraz has lots of buildings on it (that you are not allowed to explore, unfortunately), including this one which caught my eye because of all of the missing outside walls/windows. It almost made it look like an abandoned tropical hotel /resort!

I took this photo because there is a pane of glass missing and don't you imagine, as I do, that this pane was probably busted out by an inmate many years ago who fancied escape? Only then to discover that there is another 4 inches of glass and more bars beyond! Bummer for that guy.

China Town

San Fran MoMa

We saw this really cool piece of art that was a 3-D/painting piece. And there's our adorable E admiring it!

Gorton?!

This guy was sitting across from us on the street car when I snuck this photo - doesn't he look like he might be the Gorton's Fisherman? Only a pipe could make this look more complete. I'll add a close up of his accessories.

Photos on the way!

I know, I know - over a month since I posted anything! What's my excuse? I do not have one. BUT, we did go on a fantastic trip last week with our best good friends - J&E! We went to San Francisco and while I know we didn't see it ALL, we did see ALOT of it! Highlights include:
  • Fisherman's Wharf/Sea Lions
  • Lombard Street
  • Muir Woods/Beach
  • Castro Area
  • Haight & Ashbury
  • Cliff House
  • San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
  • San Francisco Art Institute
  • Ghiradelli Square
  • Coit Tower
  • Little Italy
  • Golden Gate Bridge
  • Sausolito
  • Berkley campus and downtown area
  • Union Square
  • China Town
  • Alcatraz
  • and finally - the grand finale if you will -Yosemite National Park
I hope your as impressed by that list as I am! I'll try to be judicious about the photos I post and not post all 237 that I would really like to share. But pictures are coming this week! I also do have photoshop installed on our computer now, though I'm not quite sure what to do with it now that I have it. If you have an eye for photography and have some suggestions of ways you think my photos can be improved through editing, I'd love to hear from you!
